- H.pylori infection is closely related to chronic gastritis and gastric ulcer. As a Group I carcino-l gen of stomach cancer is classified by the World Health Organization.
- About half of the world’s population once suffered from H.pylori. At present, treatment is mainly based on triple or quadruple antibiotic therapy, but the extensive use of antibiotics has led to an increasing amount of H.pylori resistance to antibiotics year by year.
- The A2142G, A2142C and A2143G mutations of 23S rRNA gene is related to clarithromycin resistance. Mutations in the gyrA gene encoding protein 87 from aspartic acid to lysine/isolucine and in the gyrA gene encoding protein 91 from aspartic acid to aspartic acid/tyrosine/glycine are associated with quinolone antibiotic resistance. Therefore, the detection of H.pylori and resistance is of clinical significance for medication.
