EasyNAT MG Assay

The Impact of MG

  • *Mycoplasma genitalium* (MG) can cause asymptomatic or symptomatic urethritis in men and is associated with cervicitis and pelvic inflammatory disease in women.

  • Among causes of non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU), MG is second only to *Chlamydia trachomatis*, accounting for 15–25% of cases.

  • MG-positive female patients often show signs of cervicitis. The detection rate of MG in cervicitis patients is 28.6%, higher than *Neisseria gonorrhoeae* (18.9%) and *Chlamydia trachomatis* (15.8%).
