MultNAT® EV Assay (5-plex)
Product Overview
MultNAT® EV Assay (5-plex) is an automated, in vitro nucleic acid amplification test designed for the qualitative detection of enterovirus nucleic acid in human throat swab specimens, and can differentiate between Enterovirus 71 (EV71), Coxsackievirus A16 (CA16), Coxsackievirus A10 (CA10), and Coxsackievirus A6 (CA6).
This product is intended for use as an aid in the diagnosis of enterovirus infection, to assist clinicians in making more accurate disease assessments and implementing scientific patient management in conjunction with other laboratory findings.
- Rapid turnaround: Precise results in 76 minutes from sample loading
- Minimal hands-on time:Simple 3-step workflow reduces operator dependency
- Serotype differentiation: Simultaneous detection of EV, EV71, CA16, CA10, and CA6
Ongoing Challanges
Enteroviruses (EVs) are among the most common viral pathogens worldwide, causing a broad spectrum of clinical manifestations—from mild respiratory illnesses and hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) to severe neurological complications such as encephalitis and acute flaccid paralysis. Outbreaks, particularly among children, pose significant public health challenges due to their rapid transmission and potential for severe outcomes
Traditional laboratory methods for enterovirus detection, such as viral culture and conventional PCR, are often time-consuming, labor-intensive, and may delay clinical decision-making. There is a clear and urgent need for a rapid, accurate, and easy-to-use diagnostic solution
Clinical Value
Enables rapid and accurate diagnosis of enterovirus infections, supporting timely clinical decisions and appropriate patient management
Facilitates early identification of specific serotypes (EV71, CA6, CA10, CA16), aiding in targeted therapy and infection control
Supports public health surveillance through real-time detection of circulating enterovirus strains, enhancing outbreak preparedness and response
