EasyNAT SP Assay

Ongoing Challanges

  • Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) affects the global population of all ages. The primary cause is “Streptococcus pneumoniae” (SP) infection, often with mixed infections involving

  • Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) and Chlamydia pneumoniae (CP).

  • These pathogens cause similar symptoms. The primary lab diagnostic method for SP is isolation and culture, which is time-consuming and has a low positive detection rate, making fast and accurate diagnosis difficult.

Product Overview

The EasyNAT “Streptococcus pneumoniae” (SP) Assay is an automated nucleic acid amplification test for the qualitative detection of “Streptococcus pneumoniae” nucleic acid in human sputum and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF).

  • Fast results in 35 minutes

  • Designed to provide an accurate LOD: 500 copies/mL

  • Compared to culture, PCR is the gold standard for detection.

  • The kit is designed for use by laboratory professionals.

Clinical Value

  • Reduces staff time and training requirements.

  • Enables precise and timely diagnosis, helping to prevent community spread.

  • POC molecular diagnosis significantly reduces TAT, allowing for rapid reporting and early initiation of antibiotic therapy.
