This assay is an automated, in vitro nucleic acid amplification test for the qualitative detection of *Ureaplasma urealyticum* (UU) and *Mycoplasma hominis* (MH) DNA in male urethral swab and female cervical swab samples from symptomatic or asymptomatic individuals.

Ongoing Challanges
Despite their prevalence in urogenital infections, *Ureaplasma urealyticum* (UU) and *Mycoplasma hominis* (MH) pose significant diagnostic and public health challenges.
They are often not included in standard STI/UTI panels, leading to deficient routine testing. PCR is available but not standardized.
Low bacterial loads in chronic infections can evade PCR detection, potentially leading to false negatives and misdiagnosis.
