EasyNAT UU Assay
Ongoing Challanges
Genital tract infection with “Ureaplasma urealyticum” (UU) is a contributing factor to miscarriage in early pregnancy. The infection rate is rising, with mixed infections being particularly serious.
The bacteria have fastidious growth requirements for culture (needing specialized media and 1-5 days of incubation).
UU is often not included in standard STI/UTI panels in many clinics, leading to a deficiency in routine testing. PCR testing is available but not standardized across laboratories.
Asymptomatic carriage is common, with up to 80% of sexually active adults potentially carrying the bacterium without symptoms.
Product Overview
The assay is an automated, in vitro nucleic acid amplifi- cation test used for qualitative diagnosis of Ureaplasma urealyticum (UU) deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) in male urinary tract swab and female cervical swab samples from individuals of symptomatic or asymptomatic infection with UU.
- A fast result in 49mins
- Direct diagnosis design to provide an accurate LOD: 100 copies/mL.
Compared to culture, PCR is considered the gold standard for detection
Clinical Value
- Dramatically improve the experience of patience
- Enable precise and timely treatment, and significantly prevent abortion in early pregnant women by cure the factor of UU infection.
Reduces the laboratory’s burden for antenatal screening.
