EasyNAT SP Assay

Ongoing Challanges

  • Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) affects the global population of all ages. The primary cause is *Streptococcus pneumoniae* (SP) infection, often with mixed infections involving

  • Mycoplasma pneumoniae* (MP) and *Chlamydia pneumoniae* (CP).

  • These pathogens cause similar symptoms. The primary lab diagnostic method for SP is isolation and culture, which is time-consuming and has a low positive detection rate, making fast and accurate diagnosis difficult.

Product Overview

The EasyNAT *Streptococcus pneumoniae* (SP) Assay is an automated nucleic acid amplification test for the qualitative detection of *Streptococcus pneumoniae* nucleic acid in human sputum and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF).

  • Fast results in 35 minutes

  • Designed to provide an accurate LOD: 500 copies/mL

  • Compared to culture, PCR is the gold standard for detection.

  • The kit is designed for use by laboratory professionals.

Clinical Value

  • Reduces staff time and training requirements.

  • Enables precise and timely diagnosis, helping to prevent community spread.

  • POC molecular diagnosis significantly reduces TAT, allowing for rapid reporting and early initiation of antibiotic therapy.
