EasyNAT UU/ MH Assay
Ongoing Challanges
Despite their prevalence in urogenital infections, *Ureaplasma urealyticum* (UU) and *Mycoplasma hominis* (MH) pose significant diagnostic and public health challenges.
They are often not included in standard STI/UTI panels, leading to deficient routine testing. PCR is available but not standardized.
Low bacterial loads in chronic infections can evade PCR detection, potentially leading to false negatives and misdiagnosis.
Lack of standard guidelines contributes to confusion regarding treatment and delays the adoption of MH testing.
Product Overview
This assay is an automated, in vitro nucleic acid amplification test for the qualitative detection of *Ureaplasma urealyticum* (UU) and *Mycoplasma hominis* (MH) DNA in male urethral swab and female cervical swab samples from symptomatic or asymptomatic individuals.
Fast results in 53 minutes
Designed to provide an accurate LOD: UU 100 CCU/mL; MH 100 CCU/mL
Compared to culture, PCR is the gold standard for detection.
Clinical Value
POC PCR is regarded as a gold standard detection method and helps provide clearer clinical guidelines for UU/MH management.
Enables precise and timely treatment, significantly helping to prevent miscarriage in early pregnancy by addressing UU/MH infection.
Lowers the laboratory’s burden for sexually transmitted infection screening.
