EasyNAT LP Assay
Ongoing Challanges
Legionella pneumophila* is a flagellated, Gram-negative bacterium that can parasitize cells, including amoebas and human macrophages.
In untreated immunocompromised patients, the mortality rate can be 40-80%. Most reported cases (75-80%) are in individuals over 50, and 60-70% are male. Delayed diagnosis, inappropriate antibiotic treatment, age, and comorbidities are main factors leading to death.
Outbreaks are often linked to complex water systems (e.g., in hospitals, hotels, ships). Strengthening water management is key to prevention.
Product Overview
The EasyNAT LP assay is intended for the in vitro qualitative detection of *Legionella pneumophila* (LP) DNA in human sputum, oropharyngeal swab samples, and environmental water samples. It aids in the diagnosis of LP infection.
Fast results in 35 minutes
Designed to provide an accurate LOD: 500 copies/mL
Compared to culture, PCR is the gold standard for detection.
Clinical Value
Highly sensitive and specific nucleic acid testing effectively detects *L. pneumophila*, aiding accurate diagnosis and reducing missed or misdiagnosed cases.
Enables precise and timely treatment.
Point-of-Care molecular diagnosis significantly reduces sample turnaround time (TAT), facilitating rapid reporting and early initiation of antibiotic therapy.
